Time to cleanse the Temple

It’s great to connect with you again as I’ve had encouraging feedbacks from many who haven’t seen our postings in a while! Since my last posting I’ve been busy with my upcoming book “Marketplace Gatekeepers” a good resource for Christians in the marketplace, so watch this space.

I’m often asked by many in the body of Christ why we are not seeing the miracles, the healings just like in the times of Jesus. To briefly answer, I reaffirm to them that God has not ceased to perform miracles and the issue is not with God. My belief is that the House of God or the House of Prayers needs cleansing from within.

Matthew 21:12-13

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

“And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.”

If you notice, something happened immediately after Jesus cleansed the temple. We are told in the next verse- Not only were they able to come into the Temple but they were all healed and made whole. Matthew 21:14 “And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.”

However we are not expected to remain the same after coming in for no one can come into His presence and remain the same. We must be mindful of what goes on in the temple.

Our churches are not different, maybe I won’t use the exact same words like Jesus but what is happening right now is best described in this scripture below and only a cleansing of the church could bring about a real change- 2 Timothy 3:1–7

Godlessness in the Last Days

“But understand this that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.”

There are many in the body of Christ who haven’t seen or experienced healings as I have just described since their conversion. Most don’t even recognise that the House of prayer or the House of God is a place of healing, deliverance, restoration and the like as we have become comfortable in our Sunday Services that we don’t even come with a heart of expectations because it’s no longer normal for healings and deliverance to happen at our services.

The Lord wants to come into our temples (His Church) and we need to prepare by the intentional cleansing of our temples, so God can come into His church before He comes for it and then hopefully we can begin to witness the full manifestations of the Kingdom of God in the way God intended.
